This project is a material-based exploration of raw earth—earth without cement or lime as a stabiliser—and its behaviour in response to gusting air, dripping water, and advancing fire. The project approaches earth less as material dug out of the ground and more as an engineered matrix of natural and synthetic particles bound by clay. Fire, air, and water activate and alter this matrix, acting as co-producers of an ‘earth-y’ tectonics.
